Whether you are an auction pro or have never bid before, the Minnesota Stamp Expo Silent Auction is for you! A silent auction is simply an auction that is held without an auctioneer. Bidders record (on the bid sheet) the highest amount they are willing to pay for the lot. If you are outbid, you owe nothing. If you are the highest bidder you own the lot for your bid amount plus a small fee (and sales tax). The lots in the auction were submitted prior to the show by attending dealers and/or members of the show committee.

To participate in the Silent Auction, visit the Northern Philatelic Society table near the show floor entrance and ask to see the auction rules which explain the terms of the auction, including bidding increments to use and the fee added to the winning bid. Next, browse through the lots - if you wish to bid, ask for a bidder's number. The bidder's number allows you to remain anonymous to other bidders. To bid, write your bidder's number on the bid sheet along with ihe highest amount you are willing to pay for the lot.

Bidding on all lots will conclude at 1:00 pm on Sunday, with lots available to the winning bidders approximately an hour later. Come join the fun!
